Vacation with friends

    When Tony
and I returned from our fantastic honeymoon trip to the Rivera Maya in Mexico we
decided that we needed to share the joy with some of our friends. This is not
the kind of trip that you want take with just anyone. You are with the other
party for a week and even though you have a nice Suite equipped with a
kitchenette and all the space you need.... still it is a week of THOSE PEOPLE.

After talking about it a bit
we asked our good friends Steve and Jenn to go with us next time we headed down.
We spend quite a bit of time with them just hanging around town. It is nice to
be able to have someone to pal around with while Tony and Steve jam.

   We are all
really excited to be able to get out of Minnesota in the Middle of winter. It
always seems to make the remainder of the cold weather seam a bit more
manageable. Jenn got her passport in the mail on Thursday the 7th of
January...... we are all waiting anxiously to see if Steve is going to get his
official Birth Certificate in time to get his passport. We have some fun things
planned while we are there......

We fly out at 6:05am.... it's
going to be an early morning. We arrive on Sunday February 8th  at
11:48am
Flying Sun County Airlines... they still give you free food...
weird gray cheeseburgers or grilled cheese sandwiches. Plan is.... Get our car
(I am the driver for this trip), Check into the resort, and drive down to Playa
del Carmen to the Super Wal-Mart to stock the kitchenette for the week. Enjoy
some nice dinner on the beach with our toes in the sand!!! Have a few margaritas
and enjoy the weather.

Honeymoon 095 by you.

On Monday we get to relax in
the morning and at noon we are going on a Zip line tour thought the trees, then
a mile bike ride and a swim in the Cenote or fresh water sink hole.

So Tuesday we have no plans
but to chill around the beautiful pool at our resort The Mayan Palace... maybe
some happy hour from 11am - 1pm.

Wednesday we are headed to
Xel-Ha and Tulum. Xel-Ha is an eco amusement park that has many things to do.
There is a lazy river through the mangrove, cliff jump, rope bridge, snorkeling,
swimming with the dolphins, cenotes....... not to mention that all of you food
and drinks are included all day long. Last time Tony and I were here we ended up
making a good friend that we are hoping to see when we head back down.

Thursday will bring us
another day of relaxing by the pool and maybe some cheap dinner down in Playa
maybe at

Carboncitos
or

El Fagon

I am sure that
Jenn and I will want to check out

Ah Cacao Chocolate.

The Ferry to Cozumel

Are we at Friday
already????? Alrighty then.... well for Friday we are heading over to Cozumel on
the Ferry. The ride over to the island will be about 45 minutes. Once on the
island we are going to pick up our scooters and scoot off to see Freddie our
favorite waiter at the Corona Bar on the west side of the island.

Love the Corona
Bar... you can snorkel, swing in the hammock, have a michalada or margarita,
some good food and a few laughs with the staff. Around the island we go....
stopping at the jewelry stands, food shacks, coconut stands, random snorkeling
stops and bars along the way. Once back in town we will drop off our fabulous
scooters and make our way back to the ferry for the return trip to Playa.

happy valentines day - pink gerbera with a heart of chocolate! by Vanessa Pike-Russell.

Saturday brings
us to our last full day in Mexico and Valentines Day to boot. What better way to
spend my first Valentines day as a married woman?? I will have my great husband
with me as I enjoy all the beauty that the area has to offer!! I think that all
of us has some sort of plan for Valentines day and whatever we end up doing is
fine with me!! I hold no expectations except to be able to be with the person I
love. I think the boys might be up to something and I know us girls might want
to spend a little time at the spa getting pampered... but whatever may be will
be :)

Sunday we head
home...... back on the plane at 12:30pm and arrive here in Saint Paul, Minnesota
at 6ish. I am sure that we will all be glad to be home. We have 3 furry kids
that are going to miss us, and we are hoping that the new one will be settled
enough before we leave that I don't feel too guilty. Steve and Jenn also have a
couple of 4 legged children that are going to need some extra loving when we get
back.

Thanks to those
of you helping out with the puppies while we are away.

So needless to
say that we are excited to go with some of our best friends on vacation. I am
sure that we are going to make some memories that will last us a life time. I
hope that they enjoy their first vacation together as well as there time with
us.

Ta Ta for
now....... I will keep you up on any new adventures.
